- How to delete cookies ?
What are cookies
When you surf internet, many sites create special objects on your
system called cookies. Cookies allow web sites to identify your profile
next time you visit the site. Essentially cookies persisted on your
computer are evidences of your browsing history. When you browse
through different sites for a long time, the increasing number of
cookies could also degrade performance of the system. That's why it is
beneficially to regularly clean cookies.
How to delete cookies?
In order to delete cookies during cleaning process, open
System Folder pane and make sure that check box My
Internet Cookies is checked. You can also view a list of
cookies in your system.
Why to not delete some cookies?
Many web sites use cookies to identify you next time you visit the
site. It allows them to customize appearance of the site according to
your preferences. Having cookies persisted in your system also allows
to avoid asking you user name and password every time you visit
protected site. For example, many sites have members area protected by
password, if you erase all cookies, those sites will not be able to
identify you next time you try to access protected area and will ask to
login. Cookies help to reduce that inconvenience, so you might want to
decide do not erase cookies set by particular sites while cleaning out
all others.
